IT infrastructure Transfomatiion

Challenge: The customer, a key educational institution in Moncton, was facing significant challenges with its IT infrastructure. The customer’s on-site support was unreliable, leading to frequent network outages, slow connection speeds, and delays in resolving technical issues. Students and staff alike were frustrated with the outdated systems, which hindered online learning and administrative efficiency. Additionally, the customer had minimal security protocols in place, leaving them vulnerable to potential cyberattacks. The customer needed a complete IT overhaul to modernize their systems, improve network performance, and ensure security for their students and staff.

Solution: SINONIES Inc. delivered a full-scale IT transformation for the customer, starting with a comprehensive assessment of their network infrastructure. We deployed our Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) system to monitor network performance and detect potential issues in real-time, enabling proactive resolution of IT problems before they could affect students and staff.

Office 365 was implemented across the campus, giving students and faculty access to cloud-based collaboration tools, including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive. This not only improved communication but also allowed for seamless file sharing and remote learning capabilities, which had become essential in the digital age. Endpoint protection and antivirus solutions were deployed on all devices to protect against malicious attacks, and security awareness training was rolled out for all staff and students to reinforce best practices in cybersecurity.

To ensure that the customer remained secure, we also installed a Backup Disaster Recovery Appliance (BDR), which regularly captured snapshots of all server data and replicated it to a secure cloud location. In the event of a server failure, data could be quickly restored from either on-site or cloud backups, minimizing downtime.

Result: The IT transformation led to a 50% reduction in IT-related issues on campus, significantly improving the experience for both students and staff. Network performance was greatly enhanced, allowing for faster and more reliable online learning and communication. Security incidents were virtually eliminated, thanks to the implementation of endpoint protection and ongoing security training. The IT department, now equipped with real-time monitoring and detailed monthly reports, could take a proactive approach to managing the customer’s infrastructure. The customer successfully modernized its IT environment, creating a more efficient and secure space for learning and administration.
